Hitting The Road

One of the joys of motorcycling is taking a Sunday morning ride with absolutely no destination in mind, go with the wind—start out with just a direction in mind and figure the rest out along the way. -- ahhh.. what a getaway! And it is best shared if you get lucky enough to have someone you care for on the back of your motorcyle, - something you would consider as a gift in trust.

I’ve practiced riding a motorcyle (motor scooter type) when I was in Highschool.. on pavement.

It was during the first hands-on drill, when my friend and I bumbled our way and drove across the town very late at night. I took my own initiative to learn night after night as If I was really taking a serious motorcyle driving course. Learning to ride can be both exciting and scary. It can be daunting to do something completely new.

During my first few rides on a rural area.. I've experienced complete presence in the moment. It was like I don't even think about what is happening. You just experience the moment and react on instinct as you fly down the road. The wind booms so loudly that you can't hear anything else, or even imagine any other sounds. Each bump in the pavement gently pushes you like a wave on a boat. Your eyes can hardly believe what they see; the motorcycle disappears and you're only aware of the world you're streaking through. The first time I got up to speed and experienced all this, I couldn't help but say a big "WOW!" ... and I never had the chance to do that again..

Because I was a beginner back then, I've experienced minor motorcycle accident during my few rides. But It didn't stopped my eagerness to learn. I dream of riding a motorcyle of my own one day, and just difinitely go to an endless adventure.. I'm looking forward to turn down lanes I've long seen but never traveled. Get lost once or twice, then double back to where I started and try again. I want to feel invested in the journey - the feeling of not relying on what has been previously written on what you should do in a place but finding out for yourself, what you can do.

I'd like to venture myself into motorcyling because of the following reasons:

* I love life on the road.

*Riding has fueled my love for travel.

* Riding a motorcycle is an ultimate form of freedom, self-expression and the need to test the limits."

* It is also Zen like. Just you and the road.

* It gives me some unique nirvana moment

* Cruising through beautiful landscapes is a very rewarding feeling

* It's fun. It's something different. It get's you closer to nature when you don't think there is any. And their is no one complaining, or arguing. All you hear is the wind all you smell are the roads.

" Sometimes you just really need to step outside. Take the risks in life that seem worth taking. The ride might not be as predictable if you'd just planted your feet and stayed put, but it will be a heck of a lot more interesting" - enjoy the ride while you're on it.
