Pope Francis has arrived in the Philippines, Asia's most populous Catholic nation, where ecstatic crowds awaited the first papal visit in 20 years. Manila (dpa) - The Philippines is the largest predominantly Catholic country in Asia.

Pope Francis' visit to our country Philippines on January 15-19 would be the fourth papal visit since 1970. He is the third pope to visit in 45 years.

The Philippines has been described as the Catholic Church's "most successful missionary effort in Asia," by historian Father Thomas Bokenkotter. About 6 million people have attended the public Mass scheduled at Manila's Rizal Park last January 18, and I was amongst the massive people on that crowd amid rainfall.

Pope Francis touched millions of lives with his simple wave, contagious smile, and heartwarming messages of love and hope. I myself can't help but screamed, yelled and waved—teary eyed—when I saw the Pope.

Here are few of Pope's message we should forever live on.

"We need to see each child as a gift to be welcomed, cherished and protected," Francis said in his homily. "And we need to care for our young people, not allowing them to be robbed of hope and condemned to a life on the streets." -with AP

Pope Francis says learning how to love is the most important lesson in life. He says the youth should learn "to think, to feel, and to do. And all that, harmoniously."

Now that his mission to deliver God’s message to the Philippines is over, it’s time for Filipinos to do their part, a Church official said.

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, who has been friends with the pontiff for years, said the responsibility to “implement" the message is now in Filipinos’ hands.
